The documents and guidance hosted here are development versions which are now superseded. They should not be used to inform methodology of any assessment using current versions of the Biodiversity metric

The Biodiversity Metric was updated to version 4.0 on 24/03/2022. This included an update to the Small Sites Metric

This page contains the calculation tools, guidance and other documents related to the earlier versions 2.0, 3.0, 3.1 of the Biodiversity Metric and the beta test version of the Small Sites Metric.

Projects currently using biodiversity metric 2.0, 3.0 or 3.1, as well as those using the beta test version of the Small Sites Metric, are advised to continue to do so unless requested otherwise by their client or consenting body as the biodiversity units values generated by these metrics can differ from each other and may differ from the more current version 4.0 of the metric.
