So how can you be involved?
Each year we try and run four in-house vegetation surveys and we ask our Natural England staff and local volunteers to get involved. These surveys are a fantastic opportunity to network, learn about the LTMN project, the sites and their management, and of course brush up on those plant ID skills. Everyone taking part will receive a brief introductory or refresher training appropriate to their skill level. The real training happens in the field. You will spend 2-3 days in a mixed ability group surveying permanent quadrats, identifying every plant you find. These surveys will be advertised in April each year.
